Part V cont’d
Sometimes when I used Esiclene in the hotel room, I took a chair to the mirror and Birgit and her friends had already drawn the Esiclene into the syringes with long needles. I was just sitting there and got hit every couple of seconds for sometimes 30 to 45 minutes straight. Sometimes the girls had to stop injecting because I was just bleeding all over the place out of these holes. So, with paper tissues they had to make the blood discontinue, otherwise when it dried it looked terrible over the third or fourth coat of pro tan. After these sessions, which sometimes lasted even over 60 minutes, I had to go to bed because I was more than dizzy and I once even passed out in the chair in my hotel room and had to be dragged to my bed.
Six amps of the 2.0 cc’s of Esiclene cost $8.00 US Dollars in Italy when it was still available. Later I paid here in the US about $ 25.00 US Dollars for one ampule. The dealers definitely made a high profit with the bodybuilders. The cheaper alternative is Synthol. But to get something very similar to Esiclene you have to use “Nolotil” or “Metamizol” which is easily obtained in Mexico. But you will definitely be in extreme pain. Just feeling these liquids entering your bloodstream is extraordinarily painful. And you should definitely rest after such an injection session otherwise you cannot make it onstage or you will pass out onstage. And if you are additionally on too much in the way of diuretics and Insulin you could definitely die as well. I once spoke to Craig Titus, who actually was a very big fan of my physique in the ‘90s, about this possibility of dying. He said: “You know Nasser, if I could be in the top six of the Olympia just once in my life like you, I would write my life over to the devil directly after the show. I do not care what happens to me after I have succeeded like anyone who ever finished in the top six.”
Q: I understand you were recently propositioned to work for Muscular Development online radio. Tell me more about this. Would you consider working for MD?
Muscular Development online seems to be a pretty decent information source. But I personally believe that MD is doing a poor job, for example, when it comes to showing pictures of different contests. Also in my personal case, my very first pro shows were not listed and several in between are missing and also my last show is not listed either. Is Bleachmon (“mon” as in the reggae-sounding Caribbean terminology) doing this intentionally, or is he just irresponsible and negligent? Personally I have the impression that Steve Bleachmon is a very insecure person, with a lack of self-esteem and also a massive inferiority complex. Also all the criticisms Bleachmon held towards Weider for many years are just plain BS. Without Weider there would have never been pro bodybuilding, but without MD there will still be bodybuilding. But it is good at least that MD correctly hired the Chihuahua Shawn and Jumbo Palumbo.
It is very admirable that Steven is giving jobs out to convicted felons. It is actually very generous and thoughtful in one way to re-socialize and re-integrate some of these individuals back into society by giving them jobs. I do not know at this point in time if this revolutionary attempt is being sponsored in any way by the government. If I was an Acromeglion I would also like to have a job there because with such a pre-conviction, as the Acromeglion has, it is difficult to nowadays find adequate employment in regular society.
Nevertheless it still gives the magazine MD, which once wanted to go completely natural in the mid-90s and was then renamed after Bleachmon realized that natural is not the profitable way to go in bodybuilding, a bad reputation. How can somebody like the Acro be editor in chief of MD with his record and his destructive and selfish rep as a former long time drug dealer over so many years? How can he be in such a position? How would it look if, for instance, Peter McGough, the Editor In Chief of Flex Magazine was a former convicted drug dealer and Joe Weider had employed him and several others with similar records? I believe that Flex would then suffer some serious credibility damage.
Also I personally do not think that the insecure and power hungry control freak Bleachmon likes to have people around him who do not have a clear and clean record. With convicted felons around him he feels so much better with his naturally low self-esteem, and also he can then be way more rude, dictatorial and condescending to his employees if he is, more or less, the only clean cut man around. Summa summarum: despite, even with my criticism, we have at least to acknowledge that Bleachmon is providing gainful employment.I also have to give Bleachmon credit for employing former IFBB pros like the Chihuahua and Kenny the Zebra because otherwise they could barely survive nowadays, especially because they are also family men who have to take more care of others, not just themselves.
Also once again thank you to Jumbo Jambo Acro for making me, via email, an unspecified and uncertain job offer to work for MD after I had revealed his true identity in interview IV of the David Robson Nasser interview series. Too bad also at the same time that MD lost the great Larry Pepe (and I am not being sarcastic, condescending or sycophantic here) because of some kindergarten tranny stuff over there. But my regards are going also to the funny Valentino and the smart John Romano who I always personally liked.
Again, I recently came into contact with Dave Palumbo after interview four was done. Since that email exchange with the Acro (AKA Oxycontin Palumbo) I have not had any other contact with him. In case someone writes me a similar very nice email as the Acro did, I will reply in the very same nice and polite way.As I have heard, Steven Bleachmon and his twin brother (supposedly they are not on good terms with each other) got from their dad, David, the founder of the supplement company Twinlab, the inheritance of that company – each of the brothers got a couple of million US Dollars.
With that money the obnoxious personality of Steven, the official CEO and president of MD, who is about 55 years of age but from the inside still a 15 year old kid, founded the magazine MD. Bleachmon’s beard runs the MD Company. This “matching couple” even has kids.
Bleachmon with his very feminine voice, who is enslaved to his beard, did not only start a war of words with the Weider’s but also especially with the operators of his magazine competitor’, Flex.
Editors note:
A “beard” is a person of the opposite sex who dates or even marries a closeted lesbian or gay person to cover up their homosexuality. In the past, lesbians often married gay men so that both could “pass” as straight, either for work or for their families. The reverse is also true.
To come back to the “offer” to work for MD: if I received a clear and clean yearly offer for five straight years in a row (also to make me mouth dead) I would still come up with everything I have said so far afterwards, and would say all of this after the five-year period of silence.
But again, there must be a yearly income of $ 500000.00 US Dollars rolling in for my “team work” with these criminals from MD. Yes, that is my opinion guys’.
Also I can say that I do not know all the guys who work for Steven Bleachmon but I definitely like Romano who I also know from at least 10 years ago when he used to live and lift in San Diego, CA.
Despite that any additional income is good and welcome but I do not need MD or any other bodybuilding related company to make a very good living here in sunny San Diego, CA. And if people assume that I am selling 200 pairs of underwear per day (laughs), taking 20000 mg’s of anabolics per week and making $2000.00 US Dollars every two months with prostitution and by living with 20 roommates in a two bedroom apartment, let it be so in the mindless heads of these mindless, envious people.
Q: Moving into potentially less controversial matters Nasser, you say you are a battle-hardened bodybuilding competitor. Tell me about some of your hardest fought bodybuilding battles.
It is quite interesting to see that Kevin Levrone had beaten Flex Wheeler many times. And as far as I remember, I had beaten Kevin at least 10 times in different IFBB pro shows. So how is this possible that I had then beaten Flex Wheeler, the “lord of illusion” allegedly only twice, in 1995? Was Levrone only out of shape when I beat him but on the other side always in shape when he defeated Wheeler? I beat Kenny, the Zebra (because of his zebra like tattoos by the way) twice in 1995, first of these being the Olympia and then on the European Tour in Madrid, Spain, for the second time. Actually I had also beaten Wheeler in 1996 – but this supposedly does not count because I was using diuretics as it is said. So then why does Jay Cutler’s second place at the 2001 Olympia count? Again, if Cutler’s place in 2001 stayed valid, then accordingly my placement at the Olympia in 1996 is valid as well. Speaking so and knowing that Wheeler is also a brown-noser like many others in the pro ranks, I am not surprised that he, as an NPC champion, got so many gifts in shows despite the fact that Levrone got even more gifts than the lord of illusion (Wheeler) did. When I say Wheeler is a brown-noser, I am talking about his endless phone calls to Jim Manion and also Wayne DeMilia and others.
If I was such a brown-noser like Wheeler, I definitely would have won more shows than he, Levrone and Cutler did. But at least nobody can say about me that they did me this or that favour. I kept my head up and did not have to crawl like these cheap pathetic suckers who are still crawling and bowing. These mentioned guys should not only be hardcore in the gym but also when it comes to their own self-pride, integrity and dignity.
Other than when I beat Wheeler twice, the rest of the time he got his ass saved by the biased judges under the supreme command of Wayne and Manion. Wheeler was about, at least, 50 pounds lighter in body weight in most shows – at approximately the same height – I was. He looked like a little boy next to me. The lord of illusion with his fake calves could have been breakfast for me. Also Wheeler told me several times to feel how hard his abs were when I came from time to time to the Venice, CA, Gold’s Gym. I did so (we were dieting and close to a show). But I was never allowed to touch his fake calves. He jumped away each time I tried. Also he was never seen working his calves – and this is a better-placed athlete than I was? It must have been his super calf genetics and also his brown nosing emergency phone calls for help like Kim Kovacs calling Jumbo Palumbo as mentioned in interview IV.Also by Wheeler’s sick urge to show that he was the better competitor than me he almost ended up each time dead in local hospitals during or after shows’. Indirectly he went ultimately overboard just to be better than me. The judges’ supported that and Wheeler then had to keep his mega doses of diuretics up and had to increase them even more progressively going from one show to the other. Sometimes I ask myself if I am, indirectly, responsible for Wheeler’s kidney failure or is it the irresponsibly acting judging clique. Let’s not forget his abnormal synthol use in almost all body parts except his big ass and so smooth half hams. Wheeler is also known for the fact that he used to inject steroids in his calves; additionally he was using big needles and poked himself many times just to create scar tissue. And big long needles hitting the same spot over and over again do create scar tissue. And on top of that he, over the years, injected gallons and gallons of synthol into the aforementioned calves, delts (front, side and rear), his triceps, his biceps to create a peak there. He even put it into the side of his lats. But the lord of illusion was doing what almost everyone else was doing. So do not point fingers at me like Shawn Ray (who is also an ex synthol user), Art Bedway (who probably put it into his stomach instead of his calves) and many others familiar and unfamiliar with the bodybuilding environment.
You guys should also ask Steve Weinberger, a nubaine user (as I have heard) in which body part he put synthol. Do not please forget his famous Flex Magazine layout, which caused a tsunami shock wave and some after shock waves in the eyes of the readers and viewers of Flex magazine. This specific issue of that magazine is a collector’s item!
Besides myself there are only approximately seven guys who ever won the NOC (Night of champions) and the AC (Arnold Classic). It is Ronnie, Wheeler, Francois, Cutler, Martinez , Levrone, myself – who else? Anyways, what I like to say about that is that only Martinez (Dominican Republic) and myself are the only ones among all IFBB pros who are not from the US originally who ever won the third (NOC) and second (AC) highest titles in bodybuilding. And you cannot tell me that the judges were not biased there.
I am not looking for any excuses, but if rebellious Lee Priest was American he would have been celebrated here as a god-like figure; the same counts for Marcus Ruehl, he would be the “USS aircraft carrier”; the same applies to some other non-US bodybuilders.
If Wheeler, Levrone and others came to my two home countries, Slavic Former Yugoslavia, which split in several smaller independent countries, and Egypt – I bet you Wheeler and Levrone would have placed behind me. Not that I am saying that these two countries have unfair and discriminating judges but most of the IFBB pro judges in the US are at the same time Amateur NPC judges who helped and who are still helping Manion to create different results. Again, regarding the 2007 Olympia, if Manion did not have the ultimate say, Victor Martinez would have been the new Mr. Olympia. Also Wolf would have been most likely in third or probably even in second place.
Also what is sickening to me is that a lot of bodybuilders who place high or win shows act like they are the most important people in the Universe. But these dumb-ass bodybuilders do not recognize that we bodybuilders are, by far, less important than, for example, medical doctors, teachers on all levels and scientists. We are definitely super-unique athletes but also from a certain point of view also just simple entertainers.
Q: You just mentioned that Victor Martinez should have placed ahead of Jay Cutler at the 2007 Mr. Olympia. What are your views on Cutler’s physique and why should he, in your view, have lost top honors in 2007?
I have to begin here by saying that I have never been on any bodybuilding boards since my involvement in bodybuilding since I began lifting weights at the age of 17. The only exception has been since the beginning of November 2007. I do not like the bodybuilding boards in general despite the fact I have, besides some neurotic and psychotic Nasser haters, also a very huge following, proven by the daily positive emails I receive, the Team Nasser support on the boards, the Nasser fans and some of the rational and objective people there as well.
As of late I have seen a lot of negative things said about Cutler on the Getbig board. Jay Cutler Penny is still Mr. Olympia. And he has achieved more than 99.99 % of the irrational, delusional idiots on the boards and off the boards who do not know as much as they think. But these idiots are all over the place. If you eliminate one, then immediately two others will replace this loser. These idiots are like roaches in daily life. They are trying to hide from the light and they come only out during night time and are still hiding behind their computers and their, sometimes, different time zones.
Most pros, including very much so the Mr. Olympia’s and also the Olympians in general, have moved everything possibly possible to be where they are in their lives. And the losers who do not have any constructive criticism can’t even move their addictive asses from their addicting boards. If Cutler “is smaller” (compared to before) then they say: “he is maxed out and the drugs do not work as good as before” or that “he is sick or he is at the end of the road”. And if Cutler is big or bigger, then they say: “he still looks the same and his jaw is now too heavy or but his head (physically) is also bigger or his waist “became larger” or he will be dead by 40.
Or and they reduce Cutler to just a plain synthol monster who will even start balding soon with his Hitler Youth hair cut. Bodybuilding experts are talking, yes indeed!
My personal opinion is that Cutler is like most other pros, maybe with the exception of the DCM, little Chihuahua Ray, the Zebra Kenny and a few others who really put too much emphasis on nobodies’ opinions and who put too much value on these pumpkin heads.
Very understandable that JC Penny retreated from his one-day-membership on the Getbig board. People often tend to be personally insulting and do just elaborate on nonsense. Again, most pro bodybuilders will be known for life and be in the history books forever regardless how they looked at the beginning, middle phase and their ending. Most of the bitching guys will never even be known for nothing!
When I read nonsense from guys like “England -1″ from getbig (just one prime example of complete, full idiot) then I can only say “Good night you weakling, you desperate jealous, unintelligent and ignorant fool.” I do see him as the prototype of stupidity and jealousy of the Mr. Olympia title winner and completely biased when it comes to his countryman, Yates, just like the DCM is concerning the crimes of the Serbian war criminals. This nobody England-1 doubted Cutler for having a belt on while doing shrugs. Obviously the guy never worked out hard in his life otherwise he would know better. Also this specific fool who is a backzilla fan (Yates fan) said: “Jay looks f*****g” horrible…it is all downhill from here.” This E – 1 fool should take a look at backzilla who looked for many years to have at least five to eight tears while going downhill, yet still won the Olympia. Not because of his great look but because Manion and his nepotistic team decided that he looked like the winner by just declaring him as the winner.
Cutler is still uphill even if he does go downhill later. You dumb ass England-1 (he is the rep and prototype of oblivious no-knowledge and no-accuracy and no-credit giving getbigger parasite) you will never be going downhill because you have never even been uphill! You are just a “dumb hill, hill bill”" and always will be existing as a downhill nobody and your existence will always be that of the prototypical bottom feeder.
While on the other side, not to many bodybuilders like myself receive so much fan support over years and years: also on the various bodybuilding boards I am being defended, protected and supported by my objective and extremely devoted Nasser fans. There are guys like the Team Nasser leader Bigbobs and many, many others who I do not mention here right now because of the shortness of this interview. I do feel very, very fortunate to have such a strong and unique fan base.
Getting back to your question David, personally I do think that JC Penny (Cutler) has had some advantages and some disadvantages in bodybuilding. Also for sure I do have a personal opinion about him like he has one of others and me included. Also I do not want to call him “Gutler” like many people do.I do think that Cutler started out relatively early using anabolic steroids, no later than age of 19 to 20 years of age. Also by looking at his body, I think that his lower body was in the first years of his development much more advanced in shape and size genetics-wise compared to his upper body. His weak upper body parts have definitely been his arms, especially his biceps. His shoulders are pretty uneven compared to each other. And his chest is not properly shaped and stretches too wide and there is not too much to his upper and inner chest thickness (as a pro). He brought his back very much up. Also I still find his quads one of the weirdest looking pair in the sport today. They almost look like snake curves, just oddly shaped by genetics.
JC Penny is a very hard worker in the gym and is originally from the East Coast city of Boston. This definitely helps in one way or another because Jim Manion, the NPC president (and IFBB head judge) is from Pittsburgh, PA and definitely personally likes East Coast bodybuilders much more than those from places like California. Also Manion thinks that the West Coast bodybuilders are lazier and crazier than the East Coast ones – that is definitely a fallacy (Matarazzo, Paul DeMayo, Jim Quinn and Mike Quinn are from the Boston area).
I believe I met Cutler for the first time in 1995 when I guest posed at the Tournament of Champions where Cutler won his weight class. The famous MC Lonnie Teper said that Cutler was the “bomb” and that I was the “nuclear bomb”. Later I met Cutler at a guest posing in his hometown of Boston, MA where he and I guest posed together. As far as I can remember, JC Penny Cutler appeared to me at that time conceited and physically I thought that he had a hump back with excessively long legs.
When JC Penny turned pro he had a very, very good spokesperson for him. It was Ed Connors, the former co-owner of Gold’s Gym. Connors promoted Cutler wherever he could and also he got, for Cutler, a Weider Contract through talking to Joe on behalf of Cutler. Cutler did not even compete the first two years as a pro despite having a good Weider Contract. Even I was seventh at the 1994 Olympia and still did not have even then any kind of sponsorship contract. As a foreigner here you definitely do not have an advantage at all.
With progressing time, JC Penny improved and was placed close to guys like Marcus Ruehl (Cutler was 15th in his first Mr. O in 1999 while Ruehl was 12th in the same show: I was sixth). The very next year, in the 2000 Olympia, I came in fifth, Ruehl placed seventh and Cutler landed in eighth place. To me Ruehl and Cutler looked pretty similar to each other: both blue eyed, both dyed their hair blondish, both had blocky waists, but Ruel had a much thicker and better chest and shoulder girdle and Cutler had better calves and hams development compared to Ruehl. Both good Olympians but from my point of view and even from the point of view of experts like Lonnie Teper, both of these gentlemen had no Mr. Olympia potential at all.
The very next year, two days before the 2001 Olympia, on a Thursday at the competitors meeting, Cutler told me – without me asking him – that he “just” intended “to place in the top 10 of the Olympia, that is good enough for me.” As we learned later, Cutler came in second place and had beaten Coleman in the prejudging. Ronnie was nervous because it seemed close between the two of them. Cutler was still blocky with bigger arms then he presented before and better developed shoulders than the year before. But Cutler was also so much sharper than Ronnie, the reigning champion.
Finally – as usual – the judges under DeMilia and the Godfather (Manion) let Ronnie win and put Cutler in second. It came out afterwards that Cutler had cheated in the diuretic test and had taken at least five different diuretics, which was against the rules. The use of diuretics in that show was not allowed (as in between the 1996 Olympia and the 2001 Olympia). Cutler was supposed to be suspended for his positive urine sample test result and the prize money was supposed to be taken away from him. But cheater Cutler acted verbally aggressive and he threatened to sue the IFBB if his prize money was taken away and he was disqualified, like myself in 1996.
JC Penny was successful with his threat and he kept his prize money and his placement in contrast to me in 1996. Back then in 1996 I was not loud and aggressive as Cutler was acting. And, nowadays, dumb bodybuilding fans say I am complaining? Yes, I am because that is the same offence but a different end result. They criticized me and rewarded Cutler for cheating and I who was nice and well behaved was punished for it.
And up until today I read the nonsense that Cutler was robbed and should have beaten Ronnie in the 2001 Olympia. But Ronnie was looking less hard and sharp because he probably took diuretics, which were way less strong and off the list, or he did not take any, which I doubt.
To my knowledge almost every one of the Olympians at the 2001 Olympia (on the 27th of October) had taken diuretics. But the ones we took were less potent and aggressive, so that you could not look as hard and sharp as Cutler did, who took five different ones. So, that is the reason why Ronnie and company looked inferior compared to Cutler. I come in ninth place.
Cutler’s big mouth helped catapult himself into the position as one of the top contenders for the 2003 Olympia. Also it helped JC Penny that he entered the Arnold Classic (as a kind of favorite) in February 2002, which he won and his decision not to enter the Las Vegas, NV Olympia in 2002 (in September) helped him very much to re-establish himself as a valid competitor, where a potential backlash from the fans could have happened after his cheating in 2001: tactically a very clever move. I am also sure that the Godfather gave him that valuable advice because he had bigger plans for Cutler. In the hierarchy of the IFBB here there was the thought that Ronnie as a black Mr. Olympia would have to retire sooner or later and that the white hope Cutler would be the best possible successor and also choice because there was no other white US bodybuilder on top. “White hopes”, as far as they can be considered as white US hopes, were Mike Francois (colon cancer), Dennis Newman (leukaemia) and Tom Prince (kidney failure) who all had to retire because of “system failures”, their bodies did not continue producing the expected results.
Since 1997, since Yates’ last Olympia, there have not been any white US guys in the top six of any Olympia, but Cutler in 2001. All other top six Mr. Olympia placements were taken either by guys like Lee Priest, Schlierkamp, Ruehl, Badell, Wolf and myself who are not Americans and all other top six placements are taken by African Americans. There is none, and there won’t be for a while, another white hope for the US except for Jay Cutler. Cutler is holding the US flag in white hands. That is also the main reason why JC Penny won the Olympia in 2007.
Just for the dumb bodybuilding fans (the super dumb ones): it is not necessarily the best athlete who wins the Olympia or any other major show. It is the one who can roll like a machine, bend like a clown, and kiss ass on a regular basis and who is, since Yates is gone, white and US bred. If Jay Cutler were black he would never even be in the Olympia top six. I do not know any top black guy who has such a big waist like Cutler. But again, should Victor Martinez with his felonies and convictions hold the title, or small and short Dexter with his also obscure background history? Or the former gang member and inconsistent Melvin, or a so-called Russland Deutscher* (a Russia German) and non-NPC guy like Dennis Wolf who is under Milos’s wings now (definitely a negative association for Wolf’s career)?
By the way, regardless of whether Milos was training Wolf, Wolf had 95% of his physique already before he ever talked to the DCM. The DCM cannot create miracles with people who do not have the genetics, the body, the health, the money, the drive and the desire to train, to sacrifice and to keep going. Why does the DCM not pick an average Joe Schmoe NPC competitor and create a miracle out of that guy?
*Footnote:
A “Russland Deutscher” is a person who was born and grew up in Russia but who is of German extract. There are still millions of Russland Deutsche’ in Russia and the former Sowjet Republics. They began settling in Russia a couple of hundred years ago. When, in 1941, the German Panzer divisions rolled into Russia, many of the Russland Deutsche’ began fighting with the German Wehrmacht’ against their former Russian neighbors and friends with which they had lived for decades and centuries peacefully together. Stalin sent many of them into the Siberian death camps. Russland Deutsche are immediately recognised in Germany by their Slavic-German accent. They are seen as not real Germans in Germany today. Often these Russland Deutsche’ are mentality more Russian than they are German.
Editors note:
This will be the final Nasser El Sonbaty interview. Due to the mixed response these interviews have gained (few people seem to be in support of them, a smaller percentage enjoy them while most are critical) Nasser has decided to save the real controversial content and so-far unpublished information for his upcoming book. The content featured in this final interview (number five) was originally 20,000 words long, but has been tapered back to 8000. The complete series was to continue, and (already documented) includes many insights into drug use by certain professional bodybuilders and drug knowledge and the science behind various substances, but will now end at number five. This interview series was, and is, intended to enlighten bodybuilding fans and insiders alike to never before probed depths of the bodybuilding industry with its colorful characters and controversial occurrences. Feedback so far (with some message boards not even discussing these interviews) suggests that the remaining content not previously covered in any of the five interviews (approximately 300 pages, 200,000 words – and counting!), is better saved for a medium that will reach the largest number of people and will be appreciated the most: the upcoming book. Stay tuned for the most revealing bodybuilding book ever published. Pumpkin heads beware!!
Thank you all for reading these interviews. All the very best
David Robson and Nasser El Sonbaty
